Dermapen® is a fractional skin micro-needling device.  The device uses multiple vertical needles to cause micro-injuries to the skin.  This encourages and harnesses the power of the body’s innate ability to re-grow and repair the skin through the physiology of collagen induction.  This starts with the release of healing growth factors and fibroblast proliferation.  This leads to collagen and elastin deposition and subsequent skin remodeling and tightening.  Because the process never involves heat or thermal energy or other chemicals, the skin can quickly heal with almost zero downtime.  Dermapen® is highly effective in the treatment of acne scarring.  A series of three Dermapen® treatments is usually recommended to achieve optimum results. Treatments should be performed about 3-4 weeks apart.
