Allergan, Inc., the company that produces Botox, Juvederm, and Latisse, recently announced that the company has received FDA approval for JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC. Juvederm Voluma is the first and only filler approved to temporarily correct volume loss in the cheek area due to aging. Aging and the effects of gravity cause the cheeks to flatten out and droop over time.
Juvederm Voluma Lasts 2 Years
Juvederm Voluma injections last up to 2 years and help create fuller, more youthful cheeks and cheekbone area. Juvederm Voluma is made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring protein found in the human body. Hyaluronic acid absorbs water and this hydration is what gives volume to the area in which it is injected. In the clinical trial, both patients and physicians saw an instant filling of the cheek area, which also indirectly lifts the nasolabial fold area.
